Epiphany Dermatology

Dr. Kerner has performed more than three thousand skin surgeries, and with a superlative safety record and excellent cosmetic results.  Our in-office procedures are safe, effective, and far less expensive than having surgeries done either in an out-patient surgical center or in a hospital.  The majority of our surgical procedures are for the treatment of skin cancers, such as basal cell carcinoma,

Surgical Dermatology

squamous cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma.  In addition the removal of many types of benign growths are performed as well, including the excision and repair of cysts, lipomas, ganglions, benign nevi and birthmarks.

Most surgical visits will require an initial apppointment for an evaluation.  At that time a plan and date for the surgery will both be arranged.  Elective, noncancer surgeries require a nominal deposit which is fully applied to the cost of the procedure.  Your insurance plan almost certainly will cover the cost of surgery for the treatment of skin cancer, though in many cases if a benign growth is

bothersome to you physically (tender, painful, itchy, etc.) then the cost of the procedure should be covered by your medical insurance.  In the event that a procedure is purely for cosmetic benefit, Las Cruces Dermatology Associates has a policy to offer as low a price as possible.  We also accept payment plans, including CareCredit.  Typically, surgeries involve the placement of both dissolvable sutures (stitches) on the underside of the skin, as well as ones on the outside that are removed at a subsequent visit.  The suture removal visit is always at no charge and will be scheduled after your surgery has been completed.

Surgeries are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Priority will be given for skin cancers and emergencies;  generally these can be performed within a few weeks of a request.
